Estimates and quotes
Estimates and written quotes describe the work we expect to carry out based on the damage visible at assessment. Vehicle damage is not always fully visible until panels are removed, so if we find additional damage once work begins, we contact you with a revised estimate and agree the next step before continuing. We do not carry out chargeable additional work without your agreement.
Booking and authorisation
- By authorising work, you confirm you are the owner of the vehicle or are authorised to commission repairs on the owner's behalf.
- You are responsible for removing personal belongings from the vehicle before work begins. We are not responsible for personal items left inside.
- Repair timescales are estimates and can be affected by parts availability and the discovery of further damage. We keep you informed if a timescale changes.
Insurance and third-party work
Where a repair is arranged through an insurer, the work is carried out to the agreed scope and to BS 10125 procedures, and we keep you informed throughout. You have the legal right to choose your own repairer; you do not have to use an insurer's nominated bodyshop. Where an insurer or third party is paying, you remain responsible for any amount they decline to cover, such as a policy excess or work outside the agreed scope.
Payment
- Payment is due on completion unless we agree otherwise in writing, or unless the work is being settled directly by an insurer.
- We may retain the vehicle until payment due for the work has been received.
Workmanship guarantee
Repairs carried out by AutoPop are covered by a 2-year workmanship guarantee on parts and labour, subject to fair wear and tear and to the vehicle being used and maintained normally. The guarantee covers the quality of our work. It does not cover later accident damage, damage caused by others, corrosion arising outside the repaired area, or faults unrelated to the work we carried out. Full warranty detail is set out on our warranty page. Please give us the opportunity to complete a guarantee repair before commissioning work elsewhere; labour for repairs carried out by third parties without our prior agreement is not refundable, except where your statutory rights apply.
Your right to cancel
If you ask us to begin work before any applicable cancellation period ends and you then cancel, we may charge for work already done and for parts already ordered or fitted. We will tell you what is chargeable before we proceed.
Liability
We carry out work with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our liability for any claim is limited to the cost of putting right the work in question.
Complaints
If something falls short, our complaints procedure explains how to raise it and how we will respond. We aim to put things right directly.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute is subject to the courts of England and Wales.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time you authorise work is the version that applies to that work.
